If one was to list a number of popular BetSoft Gaming slots off the top of their head, the chances are that Boomanji would be among them. This slot has done remarkably well since it first launched, but some of us still fail to understand why. It may have a firework theme, but Boomanji doesn’t exactly go off with a bang.

Boomanji only serves up 10 paylines on its 5 reels, meaning it has far fewer paylines than most other BetSoft games. The usual 2p minimum coin value is in place, though, meaning that a spin on this 10-line will still cost you 20p if you wish to play with all the lines. One would imagine that so few paylines would make the maximum wager quite cheap, but it doesn’t. Boomanji will still set you back at least £100 a pop with the top wager in play.
Prizes
This video slot doesn’t exactly come with a huge array of cash prizes to offer. All of the symbols in the game are fireworks, and the best paying of these are the 3 rockets. These purple, green, and red coloured rockets can see you win up to 2,500 coins in total, as Boomanji’s non-progressive jackpot. Other prizes in this slot are worth anything from 50 coins, up to 1,200 coins in total. Whilst there is no such thing as a really small win in Boomanji, there is no such thing as a really big one, either.
Special Features
If you’re hoping for BetSoft Gaming’s usual plethora of special features, you’re going to be kept waiting. Boomanji may be generous wilds, but there is precious little else to excite you.
Wild symbols appear as boxes of fireworks, and they can expand to occupy whole reels when they crop up on the second, third, or fourth reels in the game. A free re-spin is issued when this happens, too. The more wilds you have in succession, the more re-spins you will keep getting.
Where’s my bonus?
If you thought the lack of special symbols was bad, wait until you see the bonus round. You’ll have to keep waiting, though, because there isn’t one. BetSoft Gaming could have had any number of original ideas when it comes to bonuses in a firework themed slot. This one’s a dud, though, with none included whatsoever. That is, unless you count the re-spin feature as a bonus, which we don’t.
Final thoughts
For some reason, players still rant and rave about how good Boomanji is. It doesn’t contain pretty spiffy graphics, I grant you. However, in terms of wagers, paylines, special symbols and features, as well as jackpot prize, Boomanji is a bust. There is precious little excitement to be had, largely due to the lack of features than the number of lines. There are better firework themed slots, and BetSoft Gaming slots in general for you to play.
