First, find the chart with the number of deuces in your initial hand. The list starts with four and goes down to zero. Then, on each chart the options are numbered 1, 2, 3, etc. up to 10 on the last one. On each chart, look up the best hand you have, keep it, and discard the rest of the cards.
For example, let’s say you end up with two deuces. You’ll go to the two deuces chart and look up the possible hands you can make with your cards and hold onto the one highest on the list (the hand closest to number 1). In this example, you might have two deuces, but they also give you four to a royal flush. Two deuces alone is number four on the list while four to a royal flush is number two on the list. In this case you would hold onto the four to a royal flush since it is higher on the list and discard the one extra card.
