RTG is no doubt tapping into the wider gambling market with this football themed slot. The game features referees, fans, pints of beer and plenty of other football themed graphics in the symbols with 50 pay lines and a maximum bet of 12.50 USD per round. The has plenty of bonus features, including wilds, scatters, a progressive jackpot and a lucky feature that can triple all wins. The game has achieved a substantial player base, and is one of the top slots to come out of RTG casinos slots.

Sound effects and graphics
Though the game has music that plays whenever the reels roll it is by no means great, and sooner or later you’ll rather turn it off than listen to it for another second. Same applies to the sound effects, which are once again familiar from most older RTG slots. Something the company should definitely spend more time with if they want to compete with other software developers, who at this point have gone as far as licensing music from performers like Hendrix and Axl Smith.
The graphics in turn are good, and fit the slot and theme perfectly. You’ll find the reels full of everything football themed, and with ten different symbols there is enough variance to break the monotony that so often plagues online slots. The basic symbols pay out when they come in a minimum combination of three, with all of the pay lines running from left to right. The wins are by no means small, and if you’re lucky enough to land the Strike wild symbol anywhere on the winning combination the prize is immediately doubled.
Aside from the wild, which doubles all prizes, and the scatter which pays on any position the game comes with a few interesting features that guarantee bigger wins than in the normal game. First of all though, RTG has added a rather ingenious setting to the game which I haven’t really seen in any multitude before, though it might be available in a few slots here and there. When you select Striker as the game play mode all free game wins are tripled, whereas choosing the Lucky mode Free Kick games can be triggered at random at the end of any round. For me personally Lucky was the only way to go, as it almost guarantees more free spins and a more interesting bonus games.
The Free Kick free games come with several triggers:
- 3 scatters anywhere on the reels awards 8 free spins
- 4 scatters award up to 25 free spins
- 5 scatters activates a massive 100 free spins
A further penalty kick bonus can be activated during the free spins, which pays up to 900 times the original bet that triggered the free spins. During the penalty kick the player tries to score as many goals as possible(naturally completely random), each time increasing his prize multiplier. The player might also receive golden bonus balls, which if they manage to find their way into the goal triple the prize.
In addition to these the game has a minor and a major jackpot, which are both progressive and capped at 1.5% of total return to player. The sums are in thousands and tens of thousands, of course depending when the jackpot has last been claimed. Both the major and minor jackpot can trigger at random at the end of any played round.
Football Frenzy is an interesting game, and certainly the bonus games are well thought out. The only bigger downside for the game is the music and the sound effects which are the complete opposite of well thought out. Mute the game though and play your own music and you’ll be sure to enjoy the game from start to finish. The basic game play is engaging, and with the bonus games looming in the horizon, especially the penalty kick feature, the game is sure to entertain for a long time.
