Context3D not available! Firefox errors

Firefox’s decision to block flash has affected online casino players who can no longer play their favourite Play’n Go, iSoftbet, WMS, SG Interacive, Quickspin and many more online slots on the browser. Google who are pushing hard for their HTML5 platform are up next planning to soon cut Flash support from their Chrome browser.

Where does this leave us online slots players?

Well the slot developers have known about this event coming for a long time now and many studios have already ported their slots over to HTML5. Thunderkick for example went quiet in 2015 because they were reprogramming all their slots into HTML5. his has enabled them to come back with a big bang in 2016. NetEnt, Micrcogaming, Endorphina and a good number of others are also ready for the next stage. Playtech have been buying up other software companies and are all set themselves as well.

However slot providers such as Play’n Go, Quickspin and a good few others are lagging a little ways behind. iSoftbet are mostly ok but it depends on at which casino you are playing and which slot. To be perfectly frank with you it is all rather confusing as most of the slots available today are still showing up as using the Flash Player. Some of those which no longer work, give no error message whilst others give the following error message:

“Context3D not available! Possible reasons: wrong wmode or missing device support.”

Now you can fix the problems yourself, at least for the time being:

  1. First of all make sure you have the latest version of Firefox installed, go to Help, About Firefox and it will check for you. If this does not fix the problem then:
  2. Click on the three stripey bars menu button.
  3. Go to Add Ons
  4. Go to Plugins
  5. Check the Shockwave Flash plugin, it will probably have some red error message and a link to update your software.
  6. If this hasn’t fixed your problem then you will need to go back into the same Plugins menu and double check all your settings and plugins.

Hopefully that has helped some of you, at least until Flash gets completely wiped out.
