Under the Sea
|Online Slot Machine||Under The Sea|
|Slot Provider||Betsoft Casino Software|
BetSoft Gaming’s Under the Sea is your typical, run-of-the-mill underwater adventure themed slot. There are many of those online, so the developers have had to do something extraordinary to make it stand out from the competition. They have chosen to go with their usual quality 3D graphics, and add a touch of human-like qualities to the faces of the numerous fish which feature in the slot. There’s plenty of cheese in this slot, but it’s not exactly unlikeable.
Below the reels are 5 buttons you can push to alter your bets. The maximum bet and spin buttons are rather self-explanatory. However, you can also choose coin denominations which rise upwards from 2p to £1, stake up to 5 of those per line and alter any of the 30 lines which appear in this 5-reel video slot. Minimum bets will cost you 2p per line per spin. Playing with the maximum wager will set you back £150 per spin.
The most you can hope to win in this non-progressive jackpot slot is 400 coins. In order to bag that prize, you are going to need to line up 5 of the mermaid symbol on any active line. Second and third-best prizes are awarded for landing green fish, or yellow fish symbols on the reels. They can cough up 300, and 200 coins, respectively, which isn’t too shabby, either.
Wilds are present in the Under the Sea slot, and they appear as pearls. These symbols can substitute for all other icons in the slot, barring scatter icons and bonus symbols. When players land 1, 2 or 3 wilds in winning combinations on the reels, they will pocket 2x, 4x, and 8x multipliers to be added to their winnings.
Treasure chests appear as bonus giving symbols. They cannot offer you wins on their own, but they can trigger a feature. In this very simple feature, players can select from various chests to win instant cash prizes. It is basic stuff, but it is appreciated all the same.
Free Spins Bonus
A free spins bonus caps it all off. This feature is triggered by landing 3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols (which appear as sunken galleons) on the reels in any position. Two scatters will get you a consolation prize (your bet back), but won’t trigger the feature.
Once the bonus has been activated, players can start the game with either 8, 12, or 15 free spins, depending on whether they land 3, 4 or 5 of the aforementioned scatters. Any wins you accumulate during this feature will be doubled by the game.
Under the Sea is a decent game. Truth be told, there isn’t that much originality in this game, in terms of theme, or features. It is very reminiscent of other slots developed by BetSoft Gaming. It does still stand out, though, because most other underwater themed slots are miles worse. This makes Under the Sea one of the better slots in the genre, even if it is for all the wrong reasons.
