Robin Of Sherwood Slot Review & RTP

The Robin of Sherwood slot was released to the online gambling world on July 3, 2018 through a partnership between Microgaming and RabCat Gambling, the latter of which are responsible for some of the most visually stunning online video slot machine designs available. This slot is full of beautiful three-dimensional graphics from the background to the symbols on the 5×3 reel grid. Marking the reels, you’ll find familiar characters from the legendary story of Robin Hood including the Sheriff of Nottingham, Maid Marian, Friar Tuck, Robin himself, and more.

Robin of Sherwood is a 243 ways to win slot. Rather than standard pay line, wins are paid whenever three or more of the same symbol land on adjacent reels from left to right. There are both wild and scatter symbols as well as some interesting bonus features to boost your loot when a winner hits.

Although there are no standard pay lines, the player can choose his stake and that amount is multiplied by 20 to determine the total bet per spin. Wins are then calculated with the chosen stake, not the total bet. The minimum stake for this video slot is £.01 and the maximum is £2.00. That makes for a minimum total bet of £.20 per spin and a maximum of £40.00.

If you like the 243 ways to win feature, you may also want to try the following online slot machines: Pirate’s Charm SlotLucky Little Gods Slot or Wild Scarabs Slot.

Yes – Why Play Robin Of Sherwood Slot

  • This slot is very enjoyable to play with great graphics and well done Robin Hood cartoon characters that don’t come off as too childish.
  • There are several bonus features that come to life with a pretty good frequency to keep things exciting.
  • Wagering limits make this slot accessible for those that don’t want to blow a lot of money on every spin and are looking for maximum play time.

No – Why Not Play?

  • The wagering limits that make this slot attractive for conservative gamblers might keep things too low for casino high rollers out there who want more action.
  • The high-end design of this game is CPU intensive and could be slow on some computers or drain batteries quickly on mobile devices. There is an option for “performance mode”, but it doesn’t seem to make much difference when turned on.

Robin Of Sherwood Slot Bonus Features

There are several bonus features in this slot that can lead to some great payouts. They also help keep the game engaging and entertaining as all the action plays out. There are, of course, wild symbols that can replace all of the other symbols on the reels, but that’s just the beginning. Let’s take a look at what else is in store.

Wild Turning Feature

The wild turning feature triggers randomly and can happen on any spin. When this happens, Robin will appear and change all of the royal card symbols (Jack, Queen, King, Ace) on one or more reels into wild symbols.

If free spins and the wild turning feature are triggered on the same spin, the wild turning feature will activate first. During free spins, the wild turning feature is not available. It is, instead, replaced by the Royal Clearing Feature (see below).

Free Spins

The free spins feature is very straightforward. If three or more scatter symbols land anywhere on the reels, the player is awarded ten free spins. The free spins bonus cannot be re-triggered.

Royal Clearing Feature

The royal clearing feature works in conjunction with free spins. During free spins, on every second spin, Robin will take aim at a target and eliminate one of the royal symbols (J, Q, K, A) from the reels. As the royal symbols are removed, chances of winning with other (higher paying) symbols increase.

Gamble Feature

After a winning spin, the player is given the opportunity to double the payout. If you choose to gamble you’ll be presented with two targets, one red and one green. Pick a target and Robin will take his best shot. If he hits the bullseye you’ll double your prize. If he misses, you’ll lose it all. You can gamble up to five times.

Our Verdict

The Robin of Sherwood slot is a fun filled adventure. The graphics and animations are highly entertaining, and the payouts aren’t bad either. With the low wagering requirements, it also makes a great entry point into the world of online video slots for the novice or conservative player.

The only two drawbacks I can find with this game are the possible problems with battery life on mobile devices that I mentioned above, and the fact that, once again, Microgaming has left us all in the dark about the RTP for this game. It’s not displayed anywhere.

Overall, I’ll give this game a good recommendation. I’d say it’s definitely worth a look if you haven’t played it yet. There’s a very good chance that it could find its way onto your list of favourites. You can find this slot in any microgaming casino available in UK and other European countries.
